Entercation – New Content of this Concept

Entercation stands for entertaining education.

It may be possibly considered identical to a traditional concept „edutainment“. It may sound similar, but entercation is something obviously different.

At first, letīs speak about edutainment. Then, letīs show differences of the entercation, its features and significance.

You can find an extensive entry about edutainment on English Wikipedia. It means educational entertainment. Its roots reach even to Jesus Christ, to the Bible. In modern history, itīs mentioned and used by Walt Disney Company, National Geographic Society etc. It means primarily an entertainment – in form and shape. E. g. film, fable, story, computer game etc. The educational feature of such an education is secondary, developing and refining in meaning. Itīs logical according to English grammar rules. If there is an abbreviation or acronym consisting of two parts, the second one is typically primary and the first one is secondary.

There are many kinds of entertainment; some of them are educational furthermore.

In case of entercation, itīs contrary. This entertaining education is an education primarily, entertainment secondarily.

Remark: You could have googled the word entercation before this text originated. However, it was always in the very similar sense like edutainment. I hereby define its significantly new content.

In history, many parts of different educations were witty, attractive, full of fun. The entercation, however, means a situation, when the extent of entertainment exceeds a certain limit. Its form and shape are educational – there are a teacher (trainer, coach, advisor, mentor etc.) and pupils (students, trainees, participants of a course, coached people etc.). There is a classroom or mental training room, blackboard or flipchart, data projector, interactive board, computers etc. There is testing of results (skills, abilities, habits, knowledge) at the end of educational units or stages.

But in this case of education, the entertaining feature overgrows all the educational process. Itīs based of steady feeling of naturalness, casualness and spontaneity on the side of taught individuals.

Those feelings stem from using of psychomathematical formulas or psychoformulas. Psychoformulas create an complex system of pieces of know-how based on involving many distant scientific disciplines; e. g. maths, physics, psychology, pedagogy, didactics, medicine (esp. neurophysiology), philology, linguistic, economy, cybernetics, a bit even history, geography, political science, chemistry... Itīs difficult for the author of psychoformulas to invent them, because he must be graduated (at least informally) in all these disciplines at the same time. However, the use of psychoformulas is easy for the students or trainees. Itīs analogical to the most modern smartphones. Their invention is matter of the best creative brains, their use is almost for everybody.
